Today during X019, Microsoft announced over 50 new games that will be coming to Xbox Game Pass beginning this holiday season. The list of games includes such hits as Tekken 7, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, and many more.

The biggest part of this announcement, however, has to be the inclusion of just about every mainline Final Fantasy game since Final Fantasy VII is coming to Xbox Game Pass for both console and PC sometime during 2020. The Final Fantasy games coming to the service are as follows;

  • Final Fantasy VII
  • Final Fantasy VIII: Remastered
  • Final Fantasy IX
  • Final Fantasy X: HD Remastered
  • Final Fantasy X-2: HD Remastered
  • Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
  • Final Fantasy XIII
  • Final Fantasy XIII-2
  • Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII
  • Final Fantasy XV

The only games after Final Fantasy VII not coming to the service are Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIV. However, Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer went on to say that they will be bringing Final Fantasy XIV to both Xbox One and Xbox Game Pass at a later date. The inclusion of the Final Fantasy series gives the Xbox Game Pass not only a massive boost when it comes to Final Fantasy games but also a massive boost when it comes to JRPGs in general. If you are a subscriber of Xbox Game Pass you can look forward to playing the Final Fantasy series in 2020.
