Nintendo of America’s official twitter account has a steady stream of content to countdown the release of Mario Kart Tour (MKT) for iOS and Android. The latest bit of news was retweeted from the official Mario Kart Tour twitter account. The tweet includes a short video summarizing some key features of MKT in preparation for the September 25, 2019 release date.
MKT will include 2-week “tours” and the first one is set in New York City. The controls are touch-based to adapt to the mobile platform. There are other new mechanics such as each driver having their own favorite courses. The more a driver likes a course, the more items they can store (up to 3).
MKT is also Pauline’s (Mario Odyssey) debut as a driver for the Mario Kart series. In the video, it also seems like Pauline has a unique “Lucky 7” item.
You can pre-register for a Nintendo account or link it to an existing one in order to play MKT as it’s a requirement in order to play. If you already have a Nintendo account, it doesn’t hurt to check to see if you have the right information by pre-registering. Mario Kart Tour releases on September 25, 2019, and will be available on iOS and Android.
