Square-Enix dropped a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts III’s upcoming Re:Mind DLC before Tokyo Game Show 2019 (TGS). The trailer revealed a little more of what is to come and what’s to expand the narrative for the game.
The trailer starts off with showing new cutscenes of the Saïx/Isa and Xion battle in the Keyblade Graveyard. Presumably before Sora arrived there, and another mid-fight when Roxas arrived. Most notably from this is that Lea/Axel was able to transform his Keyblade back into his chakrams we know and love.
The next scene is with Sora and Chirithy in The Final World, most likely this is expanding upon the conversation he had about wanting to save everyone after succumbing to the Demon Tide the first time.
Next is when things get real interesting as we’re given gameplay to the other fan-favorite Keyblade, and counterpart to Oathkeeper, Oblivion. The Keyblade, has its own transformation to boast about called Dark Form.Whilst taking on a “new” boss battle against Vanitas.
Then we’re shown gameplay of Sora going up against Xigbar, or as we now know, Luxu. All while using the Oathkeeper Keyblade and its new form that goes along with it.
Whether or not these two battles are new canon battles that push the narrative or they’re simply similar to Data Battles of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, it is great to finally see Sora go into these battles alone for a more challenging experience.
Especially seeing the rematch of Sora and Luxu, as it is a foreshadowing of the events to come that will take place in the next saga with The Foretellers and The Master of Masters.
We’re given another pre-fight cutscene of Aqua and Ventus taking on Terranort, similar to the Saïx one.
We are then given more scenes of Young Xehanort’s conversation with the mysterious figure who is presumed to be The Master of Masters.
Next is a brand new scene of Sora and Naminé talking about potential danger that Terra may be in and he requests that she go to The Final World.
Lastly, we get a cutscene of Terranort facing down The Lingering Will, most likely this is after The Lingering Will pushed Terranort away from the Demon Tide battleground at the Keyblade Graveyard.
As noted before by Series Director, Tetsuya Nomura, the DLC is consisting of three expansions: Re:Mind Additional Scenarios, Limit Cut Episode, and the Secret Episode. All of which is expected to comprise of new plot narratives and an abundance of new bosses for you to face this Winter.
