Nintendo Direct – 09.04.2019 – All Announcements Here!

On Nintendo’s official website they hosted a new Nintendo Direct for the upcoming games in 2019. So much was announced in this 40 minute Direct and you’ll find it all right here.

Overwatch®: Legendary Edition

Overwatch will be available on the Nintendo Switch on October 15, 2019. The Legendary Editon of Overwatch for Switch will have a physical edition (no cartridge though, just a code in the case) that includes 15 skins and a 3-month subscription to Nintendo’s online service. Overwatch for the Switch will also give the option to use gyro controls. Buying on the eShop should include the same features.

Luigi’s Mansion™ 3

Luigi’s Mansion 3 made an appearance and introduced new locations to visit at the haunted hotel and a new mode where 8 players will be able to battle it out, 4 on 4, which should make for an awesome party game experience. Luigi’s Mansion 3 will be available October 31, 2019.

Super Kirby Clash™

A new Kirby game was announced, where up to 4 players will combine forces to take on bosses and quests in Super Kirby Clash. The key is working together and knowing your role and you’ll be able to team up with 4 players locally on one system, over LAN, or online. This new free to start Kirby game will be available today, September 4, 2019.

Trials of Mana

After 25 years, fans of the Mana series will be able to play the HD remake of the third game in the series, Trials of Mana, on April 24, 2020.

Return of the Obra Dinn

An adventure and puzzle game utilizing minimal color, Return of the Obra Dinn will be available Fall 2019.

Little Town Hero

Little Town Hero is a new IP from Game Freak, Inc and they are collaborating with Toby Fox, creator of Undertales, for the soundtrack. You can pre-purchase later today, but Little Town Hero will be available on October 16, 2019.

Super Smash Brothers Ultimate

There was a lot of news for Super Smash Brothers Ultimate where they announced the next DLC Fighter, Terry from Fatal Fury, who will be available November 2019. Banjo & Kazooie is available today with the newest update, v5.0 which will also include new fighter costumes, the Home Run Contest, and the ability to customize downloaded Mii Fighters. The new fighters will not stop after the 5th DLC pack as Nintendo also announced more DLC fighters are being developed outside of the Fighter’s Pass.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening

News on Link’s Awakening focused on the chamber dungeons and the ability to share your created dungeons through The Legend of Zelda Amiibo’s, with the newest Amiibo releasing the same day as the game on September 20, 2019.

DRAGON QUEST® XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition

This definition edition comes to Nintendo Switch on September 27, 2019. This game launches with a free DLC pack which includes items and costumes for the heroes. A demo is already available on the eShop where your progress will carry over to the official release.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions™ #FE Encore

Originally released on the Wii U, the Nintendo Switch version of Tokyo Mirage Sessions has the worlds of the Fire Emblem series and the Shin Megami Tensei series collide with new features not seen in the original game such as a new song, new story elements, and new character appearances.

Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise

The sequel to Deadly Premonition is coming to the Switch 2020. The surprise announcement, however, was the original game releasing on Switch as well, but available today.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition

Finally coming to the Nintendo Switch, the acclaimed RPG is now portable and you can share cloud saves between the Switch and Steam.


You can celebrate the 25th anniversary of DOOM with DOOM 64, originally released on the Nintendo 64. DOOM 64 releases on November 22, 2019.

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield

Even though we’re a little over two months away from release, we’re still learning new things about the newest titles in the Pokemon series. Today they shared four bits of news. Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield release on November 15, 2019.

1. New Pokemon Cramorant and Polteageist
2. New ways to interact with pokemon in the Pokemon Camp
3. Curry on Rice? You can cook curry at the Pokemon Camp, creating different types of curry and they’ll be logged in the CurryDex
4. More customization options for your pokemon trainer avatar including outerwear, gloves, makeup, and hairstyle

The newest game from Hi-Rez Studios is coming to the Nintendo Switch, available in 2020.

Super NES Games

Super NES games are coming to the Nintendo Switch online service on September 5, 2019. Available exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online Service members is a SNES style controller retailing for $29.99. Here is a list of the first 20 games available through the service.

Tetris® 99

The free 2.0 Update for Tetris® 99 is available tomorrow, September 5th, 2019. Tetris® 99 Invictus can only be played by achieving at least one Tetris® 99 Maximus victory. There will also be new daily missions and new icons to be unlocked.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020

The newest game in the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic series will include a story mode, select events playable in a retro style, new minigames, and new characters to unlock.


Available on September 13, 2019, DAEMON X MACHINA will have a demo available later today and your progress will carry over to the full official release. Local wireless play and online play are futures included in the official release.

STAR WARS™: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast™

The classic Star Wars game where you play as Kyle Katarn is coming to the Nintendo switch on September 24, 2019.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition

The RPG featuring Shulk from Monolith Soft released back on the Wii in 2012, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is coming to Switch in 2020.

Animal Crossing™: New Horizons

New details were released for Animal Crossing™: New Horizons. Collect resources to craft furniture and new tools March 20, 2020 when Animal Crossing™: New Horizons releases exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
