During the Rainbow Six Siege Raleigh Major, Ubisoft officially revealed the next operation titled, Ember Rise, which boasts two new operators and a re-work of the classic Kanal map.
On attack, we have the Peruvian operator of the APCA, Amaru, who boasts the Garra Hook as her unique gadget. With it, she is able to rappel into windows and onto rooftops in a quick manner.
More importantly, whilst inside buildings, she is able to rappel up open floor hatches and skylights which is a new threat that defenders will have to worry about. But be sure to run Frost and Kapkan when she is in play.
Her primary weapon loadout consists of the G8A1 LMG, which is also used by IQ, and the Supernova Shotgun which is also used by Hibana and Echo. Secondary weapons consist of the ITA12-S pocket shotgun, also used by Mira and Jackal, and the SMG11 used by the SAS operators. Gadgets consist of a breaching charge or a claymore.
On defense, we have the Mexican operator of the FES, Goyo, who utilizes his Volcán Shield as his unique gadget. His portable shield is explosive and leaves behind a flammable area of effect when it is destroyed. So it’d be unwise to Sledge on the shield.
It serves as a great deterrent against attackers as they face a damaging obstacle between them and their objective. It cannot be destroyed by Twitch Drones nor can they be detected by IQ. It would be best to disable these shields safely with Ash or Zofia tossing a frag grenade from a distance.
His primary weapon loadout consists of the Vector SMG which is utilized by Mira, and the TCSG12 Shotgun which is used by Kaid. His secondary weapon is the P229 pistol and uses either the Impact Grenade or the Nitro Cell as his secondary gadgets.
This classic Siege map is getting rework similar to Hereford Base with updated textures, new and remodeled areas, and new sites in order to make this map eligible for Ranked gameplay.
There will now be a new bomb site for Kanal located at the lower basement dock. It will have the objective take place in the Kayak and Supply room. In addition to the new site, a new basement pathway has been implemented there for new flanking routes as well.
Another notable addition to the re-work is another bridge the connects from the Control Room building to the Coast Guard building.
As mentioned before, the map has been updated cosmetically as well with enhanced textures and color-coded areas to help communicate call-outs or determining locations.
Players on PC are able to try out the new content coming with Operation Ember Rise on the test servers. While no official date has been given for the start of the new season, it is expected to be coming in a month from now.
Players with the season pass will be able to play with the new operators for a week, before they become available for to the rest.
