It was two years ago at E3 2017 that Microsoft and Mojang announced the Super Duper Graphics Pack for Minecraft which would be bringing a brand new way to experience Minecraft with super-duper graphics. The graphics pack certainly looked both ambitious and technically demanding.

Two years later with no new updates about the graphics pack, it appears that it was in fact too technically demanding as Mojang has officially announced that they are ceasing development on the pack as it proved to be too technically demanding to be implemented as originally planned and Mojang just wasn’t happy with the way it was performing across the various platforms Minecraft is on. While this is bad news, Mojang will continue to support Minecraft and will be bringing new ways to play and experience the game across all platforms it can be found on.
