Destiny 2 Getting Cross-Save Functionality on August 21

A few months ago Bungie first announced that they planned to introduce cross-save functionality into Destiny 2 sometime in the future. Well, it looks like that time is almost upon as Bungie announced that next week on Wednesday, August 21, Destiny 2 players will be able to migrate their characters between PS4, Xbox One, and PC without losing progress.

To clarify, this is not cross-play. Meaning you can still not play with players on another platform, you are just able to access your saved data and carry over your progression to other platforms. One thing that will still be tied to specific platforms, however, is Silver, as that currency can only be spent on the platform it is earned. Also worth noting is that if you decide to link your account to other platforms, you can later unlink if you so wish to choose.

Destiny 2 is available now for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Bungie will also be releasing Destiny 2’s next expansion Shadowkeep this September. If you’re looking forward to playing with your character between the different platforms Destiny 2 is on, you won’t have to wait much longer as the function will be available on August 21.
