Former God of War Developers Join Xbox’s The Initiative
The Initiative, one of Xbox’s newest first-party studios is getting some serious talent. As Ian Miller, Chris O’Neil, and Ray Yeomans, all of who were level designers on God of War are now part of The Initiative. In addition to the former God of War level designers, former director of production for God of War, Brian Westergaard has also joined the new studio.
While that about wraps it up for The Initiative’s newest team members that are from the development team behind God of War, Naughty Dog senior designer Robert Ryan and Acquisition lead at Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios Fiona Cherbak also have joined the new studio. This team is shaping The Initiative to be a true powerhouse when it comes to game development studios. he Initiative has 15 open positions at the moment, ranging from art directors to senior gameplay engineers. With the Initiative and other recently acquired studios by Xbox Game Studios such as Ninja Theory, Double Fine Productions, InXile, and Playground it seems Microsoft is preparing to bring everything they have to make sure Xbox Scarlett has a solid first-party game lineup when it launches Holiday season of 2020.
