In a recent interview with Famitsu Weekly magazine, Kingdom Hearts Series Director, Tetsuya Nomura, revealed a little more information about Kingdom Hearts III‘s upcoming DLC.
First and foremost, the Oathkeeper Keyblade and the new transformation that comes with it, will be released at the same time as the Re:Mind DLC, which will comprise of the Re:Mind additional scenario, Limit Cut Episode, and the Secret Episode.
Nomura stated that the amount of additional bosses that will be included in the Limit Cut portion of the expansion will be equivalent to the amount in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. About roughly thirteen or more boss battles for players to take on.
He clarified that much of the gameplay of Roxas, Riku, and Aqua take place within the additional Re:Mind Scenario of the DLC, and that they become playable by advancing through it. The additional scenarios are independent of the main story, thus can be explored after finishing it.
Elements of gameplay shown in the E3 trailer for the DLC, did not contain any footage of the Limit Cut bosses and he did not want to reveal too much information about them other than the amount battles that will be included.
Lastly, Nomura wants the DLC to be released as soon as it can, even before the expected Winter release timeframe. He wants to make sure that its release does not coincide with his other project, Final Fantasy VII Remake which will be coming out in March 2020.
