Dauntless is a free-to-play action game that has players hunting monsters and it’s available today. The team behind Dauntless, Phoenix Labs’ seems to have done the impossible by launching a game on the PS4 that has both cross-play and cross-progression at launch. That means that players on the PS4 can not only play with and party up with players on the Xbox One and PC via Epic Games Store but also have their progress saved on the Xbox One and PC. This way no matter what platform you choose to play on your progress and purchases will be saved through one account across the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. We’ll have a review up for Dauntless by the end of the week, so if you’re curious about how Dauntless is stay tuned until then.

Hopefully this is a sign for more games to launch with cross-play and cross-progression on PS4 in the near future along with more games that already out to get cross-play and cross-progression. Cross-play and cross-progression is nothing but a good thing as gamers want to play with their friends and not everybody has a PS4 to play on. So hopefully Sony starts becoming more open about allowing games to have cross-play and cross-progression on the PS4 especially if the game has those capabilities on every other platform out there like Minecraft.
