Fans of World of Warcraft will be getting a burst of excitement with the latest news. World of Warcraft Classic will be launching on August 27th, per Blizzard’s official website. It will be included in all subscription levels.
The World of Warcraft Classic will be a “vanilla” of the previously super popular MMORPG, which had massive success over a number of years. Players will be able to play the 1.12 version of the game known as the Drums of War on August 27th.
In mid 2016, Blizzard began to shut down various Classic WoW unauthorized servers. Their argument was that it would protect their intellectual property infringement.
This version is more of an archival type project as a game, meaning that all of the original assets, stories, and models will remain as the original game. There will be some small tweaks to the lighting and some small bug fixes, but the developers wanted to keep the game as true to form.
