Oddworld: Soulstorm which was first announced in 2016, is a 2.5 action-adventure game and the latest entry in cult-hit franchise Oddworld. Even though the game was first announced three years ago, details on the game outside of a teaser trailer that was a cutscene have been mostly non-existent. That changes today as Oddworld Inhabitants released a teaser trailer on YouTube today that actually shows some gameplay. The game appears to play similarly to both Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee and Oddworld: Abe’s Exodus. There is even a part of the trailer that shows Soulstorm’s protagonist leading dozens of Mudokens, showing how much more of a grander scale this is on compared to something like Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee.
Check out the trailer below
Some gameplay images were also shared and show a 1st person view looking through a scope which is most likely being seen from an enemies perspective in other images which are from the normal 2.5 perspective there is a bar at the top that has sleep, patrol, low, medium, and high on it, and this more than likely has to do with a new gameplay mechanic added to the game that has not been seen in past Oddworld’s. Oddworld: Soulstorm is scheduled to release early 2020 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC and if you’ve yet to try out the Oddworld franchise you can try out Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty which is a remake of Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee and currently available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Mobile.
