The free games for the month of May 2019 have been announced via the PlayStation Blog. Beginning May 7th, PlayStation Plus members will be able to get both Overcooked and What Remains of Edith Finch for free. Overcooked is a cooperative cooking game where players control chiefs in a kitchen that try and complete a certain number of orders in order to progress through the game. Overcooked has a 78 on Metacritic. While What Remains of Edith Finch is an exploration game where the player must search the residence of the Finch family and find out exactly what happened to them. What remains of Edith Finch has a 88 on Metacritic. Both of these games will be available for free beginning May 7th and remain free until June. If you have yet download Conan Exiles and The Surge and are a PlayStation Plus member, you can do so free until May 7th.
Free games are always a good thing, but while both Overcooked and What Remains of Edith Finch are both good games, they both have been on sale various times the past year, so it just seems like value wise if you subscribe to PlayStation Plus for the free games, the value of games is less than it has been in the past. This is especially true if you factor in the removal of PS3 and PS Vita games from the PS Plus lineup.
