Xbox One S All-Digital Console Announced and Releasing May 7th

The Xbox One S All-Digital was officially announced by Microsoft today. This all-digital Xbox One S does not include a disc-drive but does include a 1TB hard drive and Minecraft, Sea of Thieves, and Forza Horizon 3. The Xbox one S All-Digital will retail for $249.99 making it retail for $50 less than the standard Xbox One S. The Xbox One S All-Digital will release on May 7th.

The fact that there is no disc-drive is actually the big selling point for this console and could be perfect choice for people who may want an Xbox but only wanted one for it’s streaming services or Xbox Game pass, this is especially true since the Xbox One S All-Digital will release with a special offer for Xbox Game Pass. If all this sounds interesting to you than be sure to pick up the Xbox One S All-Digital when it releases May 7th.

Our Take

This is a cool choice for people wanting to get Xbox mainly for the Xbox game pass or just use video streaming services such as Netflix or Hulu, but it retails for $250 and while the stand Xbox One S may retail for $300 it’s actually harder to find it in stores at its full price than it is to find it on sale for $200 at any of the big name electronics stores. It also seems to be the same size as the standard Xbox One S which does seem like a missed opportunity as without a disc-drive Microsoft probably could’ve made the Xbox One S All-Digital a little smaller.
