Pokémon Sword & Shield Announced On National Pokémon Day

The date is February 27, 2019 and today is National Pokémon Day! Pokémon Trainers around the world were treated to some exciting news this morning via Nintendo’s Pokémon Direct.

President and CEO of The Pokémon Company, Tsunekazu Ishihara, alongside GAME FREAK producer Junichi Masuda and director Shigeru Ohmori, announced the 8th Generation installment of the Pokémon series titled Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield for the Nintendo Switch.

Sword and Shield takes trainers across the new Galar Region.

The Galar Region is a beautiful mix of city and countryside, filled with new, never before seen Pokémon.

As with every new generation of Pokémon, 1 of 3 new Starter Pokémon are available for your choosing to fight alongside you as you set off to become the Champion of the Galar Region.
